About the Maker
Marco Imer Piccinotti is a contemporary master luthier based in San Polo d’Enza with shops in Cremona and Shanghai. Piccinotti began his career in 1983 under the guidance of master Renato Scrollavezza in his Parma workshop. Over the decades, Piccinotti has completed many violinmaking masterclasses and worked with notable luthiers, studying the work of Italian violinmakers from the classical period to his modern contemporaries. He has drawn upon this wealth of knowledge to develop his own excellent models and varnishing methods. Piccinotti has taught at Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano and the International School of Violin Making of Parma and been the recipient of several international competitions for his work.
